being

18 Mar

it is a rise and fall
from naught to naught
which for the blessed
will go with light
and return with love

I don’t really understand this, but the words are charming.

    My interpretation:

the “rise and fall” is growing up from birth to declining into old age and eventual death

“naught to naught” is the ashes to ashes, nothingness to nothingness concept

the “blessed” are the lucky ones, the fortunate

“go with light” is to become enlightened as we mature

and to “return with love” is to know and be loved as we grow old

Like Viv, I didn’t get it at first; that ‘ashes to ashes’ made it all clear, though.

Spent a while thinking this one over. Liked the sentiment that journeying with light (truth?) would mean a return with an understanding of the need for love. Then read the comments. Guess I wasn’t too far off. Nice, simple and thought provoking indeed.
