winter

17 Dec

winter solstice nears
nights lay deep and still as snow
heavy on my soul

goldfinch scavenge meager seed
dreaming of the fruitful spring

I will remember to feed the birds. The piece is heavy with sorrow to me. May the solstice bring comfort and peace to all of us. The light will start coming back in a couple more days.
