early

15 Dec

through the window – darkness
down the hall
my sweet wife stirs in sleep
outside – street sounds awaken

peaceful in my red chair
listening to the house
tapping out fresh thoughts
by a single morning light
enjoying the early

Found it! I found it before, but hadn’t realised that it was your Big Tent poem. Nice one, and much happier than expected, given the prompt!

Loved the simplicity of this one. It is like a pillow, restful… even this early.

      Thank you.

Enjoying the early is such a lovely happenstance. I’ve always wanted a red chair.

As one who rises early, I so enjoyed this and felt like I was there in the scene (on my burgundy couch)tapping out my thoughts.
